San Juan Homestay

You’ll stay with Esmeralda, Josías and family in their traditional adobe house. The guest room is decorated with locally crafted wooden furniture and colourful hand-woven textiles. It has two double beds and a single bed, sleeping a maximum of 5 people. There’s also a private bathroom.

You can cook in the family kitchen and watch Esmeralda grind corn, make her own tortillas and grill food over the open fire. Purified drinking water is provided and you’ll be welcomed with a cup of locally grown organic coffee.

On request, Esmeralda can adapt typical Tz'utujil dishes for vegetarian or vegan guests, or for visitors with food allergies or intolerances. Please let her know your needs at least 24 hours in advance.

Tecpán Homestay

Panchita and her family will host you in a cosy private room that sleeps up to 3 people, with a double bed and a single bed. The bathroom and kitchen are shared with the family.

In the kitchen you’ll find a traditional wood-burning stove and plenty of fresh produce from the farm. If you like, you can help Panchita grind corn, make tortillas and grill food over the fire.
